These beautiful Sarah Kay/Hallmark wall hangings need a new home ... is it yours? They are from the 80s I think and are around A4 in size.

Patience is a Virtue

You may remember a post I did what seems like many months ago now about finding an old painter's timber ladder to display some of my more special handbags. Well wait I did, and I found one!

We visited a garage sale described as a farmhouse estate on Saturday morning and walked in maybe 5 or 10 minutes before the advertised start time. Lucky we did because this baby was waiting for me to snap her up for a bargain price of $10.00! I'll be getting rid of that extra piece of new timber that has been added and shortening the rope but yep, it's pretty much what I had asked the garage sale gods to send my way.

Thanks also to dad for driving half an hour to get to a garage sale with the hope that some treasures would be waiting for us.

When we walked out with my new prize I overheard a lady say to her buddy, 'don't you just hate it when people get the stuff we're looking for?'

She was so jealous. I don't blame her.

Oh, and for my favourite hord nerd out there, we got these super healthy plants for $1.00 each. Should have got the whole lot!

Op Shop Finds - July Edition

Mum and I braved a chilly Saturday morning in Toowoomba on a quest for some bargains, and bargains we got. I won't bore you with all the copious amounts of crockery I scored for the wedding collection but instead show you a few of my favourite finds. These include a vintage scrabble board, a cute Walt Disney rabbit squeaky toy (does anyone recognise the character?), a beautiful tin and a pre-1970s camera.

The first three items were picked up at a church jumble sale - my favourite kind of garage sale! I got a whole pile of stuff including an old mirror and industrial fan (currently awaiting repairs over at mum and dad's place), some Meakin crockery, a magazine holder and other treasures for a grand sum of $14. Can't go wrong!

I couldn't get a great pic of the camera so here is a pic courtesy of everyone's favourite online encyclopedia, Wikipedia! It's a Yashica Minister III reportedly introduced into the market in 1963. Mum and I got a whole pile of stuff from this garage sale and I offered the lady $5 for this (she had said it was $10) and it was a deal. I wonder if it's usable?! Might have to do some research!

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 96.

A while back I saw a picture of Jessica Simpson looking absolutey smashing in a white shirt, red blazer and jeans. So when I saw this blazer at a garage sale for $1 I knew I could not leave it behind. It is from the US label The Limited, made in Mexico and is made of the most beautifully soft linen.

Other celebs rocking the red blazer/jacket trend include Kristin Cavallari (love those flared jeans too), Rachel Bilson and the gorgeous Olivia Palermo (who in my opinion never puts a foot wrong ... AND rocks both blonde and brown hair)

Obviously I'm no match for any of these super beautiful and stylish celebs but here is my attempt at stylin' my new red jacket.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 94.

It's a dreary, rainy day here in South West meets East Queensland and I'm sure everyone at work wishes they were in bed cuddled up under the doona with a good flick. But alas, that is what yesterday, our last public holiday of the year, was for.

Today I'm sporting what can only be described as a nanna dress - I kind of remember grandma wearing something like this many moons ago. It was an item in my $5 bag at the monthly Salvos bag sale and although it's a little big, it fits quite nicely with a jumper over the top. Oh, and speaking of grandmas, I was talking to the best grandma in the world the other day and she referred to my blog as my blob. How cute is that?!
