an ode to Edna ...

My workmate Colleen's mum has been all over her memory and her house to find things that she no longer has a use for that she knows I will love and appreciate. These goodies came all the way from near Armidale NSW ... around 5 hours from here.

Again, thanks Edna and Colleen and I'll be sending Edna something as a thank you for her lovely thoughts in passing on these lovely items.

Here is just a small selection of what is now in my possession.

My absolute favourite item

and may I add there are FOUR of them!!! ...

I couldn't get a great pic of them but they are glass federal fruit jars complete with lids  - pretty tall and PERFECT for the lolly buffet at the wedding ... after washing these I came up with a genius idea in paying homage to their previous purpose ... fill them with lolly bananas, strawberries and cream, pineapples and something like starburst.

The search for vases/jars is now complete!

plus 2 x actual!!! Mason jars ... I am so spoilt.

as well as ...

Cutlery to add to the wedding collection INCLUDING bone handled knives. Those things are like gold these days and I cannot express how grateful I am that she passed these on!

There are plenty more items I haven't showcased just yet but will do in the near future ...

And since we're on the subject, I'll also do a shout out to myself and mum for finding more great pretties for the wedding.

I've found

... plenty of Johnson Australia, some gorgeous Japanese teacups and some English Swinnertons side plates.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 109.

Beware ... I'm in a slightly bad mood today due to one, Mr Fiance choosing to have the alarm set at 5:30am then changing his mind once it had gone off to a 6:00am wake up time to then bloody 6:30am. Mind you I am basically awake THE WHOLE TIME! Grrrr. Rant complete.

Feels like we took a gazillion photos this morning and these are the only ones I'm semi-happy with. More grrr. Anyway, thanks to my g-ma-ma for hemming this dress up and making the arms bigger - anyone else struggle with arm strangulation in vintage dresses or is it just me?

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 108 and My Weekend

Welcome to another week of fun ... my weekend went by too quickly but we enjoyed some lovely and not too chilly southern hospitality (Queensland style), had THE best lunch at Ballandean Estate winery and met the cutest little bubba.

I'm always curious what my hair looks like from the back when I decide to leave it natural. Hmmm, that sample moroccan oil that sissy gave me has reduced the frizz. Does anyone else use Moroccan Oil?

and here and some instagram snaps which pretty much sum up my weekend - rainbows, birthday lunches, bonfires, dogs and new babies.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 107.

Yay, it's Friday! I've just finished some very tasty vegemite and cheese crackers and thought I'd share with you how much vegemite I like.

DSC03359

How much vegemite do you like? And what are your thoughts on white jeans? Trashy? Old School? Stylish? I'm a bit undecided but thought I'd give these country road pearlers a chance since they are a good fit and were snatched up for about $4 at Vinnies months ago.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 106.

Super late post today but I now am an accredited senior first aider. Yay for me. I've got a bit of a mumsy outfit on today in honour of two of my very good and brave friends each giving birth to beautiful baby girls in the last couple of days. A huge congrats to Karla and Craig in welcoming Isabella Rose and to Lisa and David for finally bringing in to the world Alanah Joan. Can't wait to meet them both.

Oh, and I wonder why I'm wearing this outfit. I aspire NEVER to look mumsy when I'm an actual mum so why I am doing so now? I'll leave that with you.

Excited to meet up with stylist and florist extraordinaire Erin tonight!
