Amazing, Wonderful, Fantastic, Artistic, Beautiful, Stunning Wedding Sneak Peek

What you've all been waiting for and what I was so surprised was delivered so quickly - a first look at our wedding shots by the dream team - the visionary Darren at CkMetroPhotos and his awesome and oh-so-lovely assistant photographer Loren from Loren Jarvis Photography.

Big shout outs also to the following:

  • the lovely miss Erin from Vera and Rose for the fabulous bouquets, table flowers and for setting up the marquee so beautifully
  • the beautiful miss Kylie Nolan for making me look so amazing with her superb make up skills
  • and last but not least, mum and dad for having such an amazing house filled with so many quirky and retro 'things' around for Darren to make use of

This is just a small selection of my favourites. The rest can be checked out here - please go take a look and leave Darren (and me!) some love.

Aren't they just so, so, so, so frickin amazing?!

I'm signing off for a while. We leave for Thailand on Sunday and we'll be living it up in Phuket for 9 nights. Six nights in a ***** and three nights in a ****** place. If you have ever studied TripAdvisor before selecting accommodation you will know that it basically is a collection of traveller reviews. Our three night, 6 star luxury accommodation is rated #1 of 537 hotel in Phuket and following closely behind is our six night, 5 star place at #9. We got an awesome deal through deals.com.au and can I tell you that I CANNOT wait!!!!

Kat, I hope you have an awesome wedding and I CANNOT wait to see the pics.

Talk soon lovelies.

The hunt for wedding items

With thirty-three days left until our big day I can just feel the stress and pressure of making sure everything has been organised and paid for creeping up on me. Weddings surely are an expensive affair and I'm feeling a little sick in the stomach at the moment after realising my guesstimate for flowers was a fair way under what the actual cost is.

Anyway, if you follow me on pinterest you'll see I've amassed quite an eclectic range of ideas for our wedding and I was lucky enough to pick up some of the things I've been looking out for on the weekend.

These

for this idea

$1.00 for the two. They were previously used to hold keys so aren't as cool as the inspiration image but for a dolla' they'll do the trick.

These for the bargain price of $2.00

to be displayed with this

which will be used like this albeit a LOT more shabbier.

Other goodies I picked up include some vintage kitchen items and this oh so cool retro Coolangatta (gold coast) glass.

Oh, and another idea I'm rolling with is this one. I've been scouring eBay for a suitable shelving unit but none are in my price range or location. Lucky for me though my workmate has offered two shelving units he has at home which are PERFECT!

oh, and of course I already have the jars. Now I've just got to somehow communicate to our guests that yes, you will be drinking out of a jar!

What treasures have you found recently? Pop over to Sophie's to see what else was scouted out this past week.

an ode to Edna ...

My workmate Colleen's mum has been all over her memory and her house to find things that she no longer has a use for that she knows I will love and appreciate. These goodies came all the way from near Armidale NSW ... around 5 hours from here.

Again, thanks Edna and Colleen and I'll be sending Edna something as a thank you for her lovely thoughts in passing on these lovely items.

Here is just a small selection of what is now in my possession.

My absolute favourite item

and may I add there are FOUR of them!!! ...

I couldn't get a great pic of them but they are glass federal fruit jars complete with lids  - pretty tall and PERFECT for the lolly buffet at the wedding ... after washing these I came up with a genius idea in paying homage to their previous purpose ... fill them with lolly bananas, strawberries and cream, pineapples and something like starburst.

The search for vases/jars is now complete!

plus 2 x actual!!! Mason jars ... I am so spoilt.

as well as ...

Cutlery to add to the wedding collection INCLUDING bone handled knives. Those things are like gold these days and I cannot express how grateful I am that she passed these on!

There are plenty more items I haven't showcased just yet but will do in the near future ...

And since we're on the subject, I'll also do a shout out to myself and mum for finding more great pretties for the wedding.

I've found

... plenty of Johnson Australia, some gorgeous Japanese teacups and some English Swinnertons side plates.
