Work Outfit Challenge - Day 199.

Christmas is a time when you sacrifice the things you want - and hope someone will get them for you
P.K Shaw

During the year if I see an item of clothing, pair of shoes or jewellery that I want I usually buy it. So when birthday and Christmas time comes around I am usually stuck for ideas. This year is no exception. I have come up with a few ideas though. An item or two from Lorna Jane, a vintage/vintage look-a-like radio, some new mineral foundation in a medium shade for summer and an external hard drive. What's on your wish list?

Today marks 2 weeks left of work and therefore 10 days left of my challenge for the year. It's been a challenge at times but I've thrived on it and succeeded in not wearing the same outfit twice!

Here is today's choice ... thrifted top and shoes and some new black pants. I've actually bought two pairs of black pants in the last week ... for ages I thought black pants were too 'worky' and stuck clear of them. After seeing the sales chicky in Dotti last week rocky some black ankle length pants with a flowy racer back top, I decided to give them a try. These babies cost me about $12 on clearance at Target. Love that shop. Not so flattering on the ol' derriere but cute from the front.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 198.

Hello all. I know what you're all thinking and in case you don't know what you're thinking I'll tell you.

Man she wears that skirt alot!

Well yes it's true. I don't own a lot of skirts and this one is quite frankly, AWESOME. I really should look into getting myself like 5 more. Or maybe just one more. Ever since asos opened their Australian site I seem to have become less interested but might just have to take a look. I also did hear that topshop just opened in Australia. I might have to check out their site too to see if the postage has decreased.

Anyway, enough babble.

Oh, and popped down to Target this morning who quite conveniently opened at 8am to grab a dress for my sis and picked these up.

I know socks aren't the most exciting purchase but 3 pairs for $2.83 ... what a bargain! Plus I'm always losing socks and for someone who goes to the gym or plays sport at least 7 times a week new ones are always needed. I'm tempted to go back down there this afternoon to see what else they have as part of their 4 million items below cost sale.

Work Outfit Challenge - Day 195.

15 days to go and counting. Pretty much ready to kick in the towel on this whole-year outfit challenge but will stay strong. No more challenges though will be attempted. It will just be whatever I pick out of my closet.

It was my grandma's 80th party on the weekend as well as my work christmas party so here are some snaps. The first couple were taken last week at the social event of the conference I went to last week. The lovely ladette in black sans-glasses is my wonderful daily photographer. She has done a fab job this year and I'll think she'll be quite happy not to have to take photos every morning next year!

Today's outfit is one of those that I, at least thinks looks like a thousand times better in person. As in most photos, I look like a total midge wearing this maxi skirt but actually really like it. It was a bargain at Target yesterday ... reduced from $59 down to about $11. I got some other bargains too. If you're looking for some nice, cheap pieces check out the clearance section and REMEMBER TO SCAN as more often than not, the price on the sticker is not accurate.

Saturday was my first trip down to the local shopping centre and I must admit it wasn't as hard as I would have thought. We didn't go in to Myer at all which probably helped and there was only two exclamations of 'love, love, love' ...

I totally am loving these tights from Sportsgirl but wondering if I could do them justice ala Blair Waldorf (I wish!!)

The other loved item was a cute little skull scarf in Dotti marked $9.95 with another 50% off the marked price. My friend however killed my excitement by trying to 'diss skulls questioning me why would i like something with a skull on it. Do I have to have a reason?

On other related tight-talk I was in tight-heaven at Target on Saturday when I saw 200 denier tights! I had only ever seen and bought 120D tights (best place to buy - Coles on sale) and seriously considered buying them but remembered my no-retail challenge.

I picked up a few things this week at various op shops - to be posted soon.

A big shout out to the bf - happy 25th birthday honey puff xxx
